Puffy eyes

Ok so I know we all have looked up "how to get rid of puffy eyes, bags, dark, and dark circles". Well, I am the queen of trying ANY and EVERYTHING for this because I am part middle eastern and I have the stereotypical eyes with dark circles, and puffiness.

This picture isn't even my eyes at their worst, but I found this picture from 2 years ago that I took to see what my hair looked like, LOL. No judging! =P

This picture was taken around the same time period... but if you look at my left eye it's very swollen. I was going through a very stressful time period, and it really showed in my eyes!

Well, most of the time this is just genetics and you can't fix it completely, but I have found a combination of tricks that really help for me.

1st off I have terrible allergies. I don't get mucus or sneeze but tons of congestion. By congestion I mean my sinuses are swollen and there is TONS of pressure behind my eyes. So much that if I do not take my allergy medicine, nasal spray, and a decongestant (not an expectorant) daily I get horrible headaches!

This can cause extra swelling and water retention in the eyes... So just back taking an allergy medicine and a decongestant (claritinD is a combo of both) it reduces the swelling in my eyes.

-Everyone says it but Hemorrhoid cream... it really does help with dark circles under the eyes, but you need to use it consistently!

-A lot of puffiness is caused by water retention that why it's good to drink plenty of water and work out on a regular basis! I take a lot of medication for allergies and other things so I have trouble with water retention and working out literally helps so much!!

-Also every morning I get something cold (like a water bottle) out of the fridge and put it on my bags! It feels funny, but it really does help the swelling!! ESPECIALLY, after a long night of partying or studying!!

-Another thing that helps is buying something like Mary Kay's cooling eye gel- it works great especially if you put it in the fridge!! (to help maximize the cooling effect)

-Also i really like both of the Garnier under-eye rollers! The one with caffeine works sooo WELL!  The caffeine seems to really help me with the dark circles!! It gets the blood flowing!

These pictures are more recent after I started cracking down on making my eyes look better! Also foundation, concealer and a highlighter help!! =D But you can still tell they are there, but under control.

"A bit of Lusting after someone does wonders for the skin"- Elizabeth Hurley

So I was reading some blogs that are dedicated to skincare today, and it got me thinking. Many people ask me how I do my make up or to do their makeup because my skin looks like it's glowing... But the truth is if you don't take care of your skin, the best makeup artist in the world can't make you look as fresh and glowing as someone who maintains their skin.

I hit puberty at a young age so I have always been super self conscious about my skin- I had mild acne in the third grade, granted this is before I was old enough to wear makeup to cover it, and all i wanted was to look like a little girl like my friends. So, since a young age I have been on the look out of how to make my skin look as good as possible!

Kim Kardashian is always accused of getting plastic surgery, but that may not be the case (although she might have). BUT you can tell her skincare routine has changed dramatically. It is sooo so important to not get too much sun exposure on on our faces... It makes the skin lose elasticity, and I am not sure if this is proven science, but but from my perspective it makes the pores appear larger immediately (although it is proven to actually do this over time).

It is true our diets, exercise routine and water intake are all really important, but so is our actual skin care routine! Make sure you cater to your skin type!

I have normal/oily skin. I take my makeup off with Neutregena make up removal wipes every night (I know we have all heard great reviews about these, and they are all TRUE). I use Mary Kay eye make up remover to make sure I get all my mascara particles. I then wash my face with Cetaphil face wash! It's amazing because it thoroughly cleans the skin with out making it feel dry and tight like many products do! Then I'm currently moisturizing with Mary Kay time-wise moisturizer (use what you feel best for your skin-type). I then apply either the clientele moisturizer to my eyes (it really helps moisturize my fine lines under my eyes) or I use the Mary Kay eye firming cream under my eyes and on my lips to create a plumping effect (since our lips do get thinner with age). I also use an acne treatment prescribed by my doctor when I have inflammations.

EDIT:

Ok this pic is after Kim started using sunless tanner and you can still get a natural glow, but without all the damaging effects and allowing your face to still look stress! I personally do not tan my face naturally and I rarely use sunless tanners on my face, I typically use makeup to blend my face color to match my body, and typically I like my face a little lighter than my body, so this effect is quite simple.

eye firming cream

I read recently somewhere in passing that if you put your eye firming cream on your lips at night it makes your lips fuller...

I definitely see a difference. My lips feel plumper and rounder! I use my Mary Kay eye firming cream and it works so well!
