Pride Weekend

So I had a GREAT weekend at PRIDE in Houston. Although, the weather was too humid for my liking. My last blog I posted about my kiss nails, and they are till intact and look awesome! I am so shocked! Especially since I had such a crazy weekend the parade, bars, and at the pool!

-I wish my pictures turned out better because I got so many compliments from the gay guys saying my face looked "beat" which means it looked really good lmao.

-And I wish I taken a full picture of my outfit on Friday night because I had so many compliments and I was excited because I wasn't sure if people would think my outfit was odd!

-I wore a black dress that I found for dirt cheap at Ross with a polka dotted scarf tied around my neck with the long part hanging in the back creating a "choker" effect and 4-inch black platform Steve Maddens (my most comfy shoes). I really liked it!

-This picture came out terrible because it was with my phone in the car, and the flash washed out my makeup (& my scarf fell forward)! But I will have to recreate the look because it turned out really great and was Kim K inspired! =P

I will list what products I used when I recreate the look!

-My friend Ricky and I (mainly ME) look a little swollen here because it was extremely hot and humid in Houston! The humidity literally collects on your skin! My hair was soaking wet when we left the parade around 10:30pm.

-I got a lot of compliments on my red lipstick! It's crazy how it attracts people to come talk to you! I have loved red since I was a little girl because my grandma wore a red Estee Lauder lipstick every SINGLE day! =) And in high school I followed her example. Now I like to switch it up a little more, but love it non the less!

-My Betsey Johnson earrings gave my slightly pin-up look a pop of color for summer! And the Halter dress is actually a dress I borrowed from a friend. I thought it was from Guess and I was so shocked that it was actually from Forever 21!

Cloud

Soo it's been a while and I meant to do this post a couple of days ago, but I work and go to school so I get super busy!

Yesterday I really wanted to go get acrylic nails. For the past year I have really made the effort to stop biting my nails and I have kept them painted so that I am not so tempted to bite them. Although this method has worked for me, I just have really sucky nail genes, but acrylic nails are SUPER expensive!

Sooo I went to Target and bought some Kiss nails and I usually buy Revlon, but these are sooo much better (and cheaper). They are glued on solid as if I had acrylic nails! Then I just painted them with my Revlon top speed nail polish in cloud! (I don't really like white tips anymore because I had them from the 7th grade until my freshman year of college). I bought this color over memorial day weekend and I am literally obsessed with it!

I am seriously really impressed with the fact that after working out, cooking, cleaning, showering, and working not one has broke-- which is unusual for glue-on nails!! I'm in LOVE!
I am really satisfied with these nails especially because I am very active and I workout twice a day-I don't want to spend that much on a manicure or acrylics because they usually break! I only paid about $6 for these (and didn't have to tip anyone) =P

but I will continue to get pedicures because I live in heels and I try to keep my feet presentable and my home care on them just isn't the same ;)!

I also purchased a few things from Elf! For the longest I couldn't find a good selection at the Target where I live for school, but OMG they have a whole section now, so I was super excited!

I ended up buying the concealer/highlighter duo for $3 and I am extremely impressed! It's actually really good, it isn't drying, or too thick and gives a nice even coverage!

The highlighter is a little different than the ones I am used to but I like it for everyday use because there is not a shimmer, it's just a glowy white color!

I also bought a bronzer, and in the store it looked matte but it's not and I don't EVER like to apply straight shimmer to my face. If I want that glowy/shimmery look I tend to use moonbeam by Benefit (which is pricey) by NYX has a cheap alternative.

 Sorry my pictures are horrible!

PS- ELF brushes are soo good for the price! My friends around here don't know much about the brand and they are always shocked when I tell them how cheap they are! =p

BUT the regular $1 face brushes I would not recommend but their studio ones are pretty good!!

Have a great weekend! I am heading to Houston for the night to celebrate pride weekend there with my friend Ricky!! Road trip! =D

FAB WEEKEND!

So I had an incredible weekend! On Friday I decided to blend in with my surroundings and actually go to a country bar. I never go even though there are tons of them where I am living for school, but it's not really my thing! I still had a great time and two-stepped with some nice country gentlemen. lmao.

My friend Kathryn and I at Daisey Dukes.

On Saturday morning i went to yoga with my cousin, and it felt really great! I also got a mani/pedi with her, and I loved the color!  It's called Cajun Shrimp by OPI, and I got tons of compliments on it! unfortunately I spent all of Sunday pool side, and two of my fingernails chips, but my toenails are still standing strong! =D

We also got our eyebrows threaded, and I feel so clean now!

I'm not sure why these pictures look dark on my computer because they look super bright on my phone!

I have never liked Biore pore strips, but my cousin always uses them and while we were watching oddities she had one on so i decided to do one as well... Well, I know I used it right, but it just doesn't work for me, and I know it's not because I have perfect pores!

I think I will stick with my Neutrogena WAVE and Mary Kay Micro dermal abrasion for deep cleansing of my pores!

TGIF

Happy Friday! I am so thankful it is finally Friday (Even if I only had a 3 day week). Soooo I just found this out about 6 months ago, and I feel silly for never realizing this, BUT sugar free Redbull is SUPER low in calories! I try not to drink caffeine unless I really need it, but when I do I drink this! The small can is ONLY 10 calories! PLUS- it's sugar free so you don't have that weird crash! I like it better than the five hour energy shots because those don't always work for me. I like other energy drinks, but with all the other stuff added they leave me on the verge of a panic attacks or with an upset stomach!

Besides the fact that Friday is the last day of the week, it is amazing because I don't have my 8am Yoga class! So I got to sleep in a little! =D

I was feeling sneaky so I took a picture of my self bored in class this morning, to show off my yellow rose, Betsey Johnson earrings! I got these a few years ago from Dillards and i always have to break them back out in the Spring and Summer! I love wearing yellow with black and white outfits because it really gives the looks a fresh pop! LOVE IT!

I HATE the lighting though in this room because it washed me out to wear you can't see my bright pink cheeks! Also the yellow looks way more dull! =(

HAPPY HUMP DAY!

Happy HUMP DAY! I Just enjoyed a relaxing FOUR day weekend! I hope everyone else had a relaxing Memorial Day weekend! I enjoyed going home and spending the weekend with my family, eating some delicious food! My dad made an AWESOME homemade grilled chicken-pesto pizza! It was DELISH!

On Saturday my family and I went to a famous restaurant in Ft. Worth called "Joe T Garcia's"! It is humongous and the landscaping is beautiful! They make really amazing margaritas, and I am not a big margarita person, but these are perfect!
I also bought this Revlon nail polish at Walmart this weekend called "Cloud" and I looooove it! The picture doesn't do it justice!

I'm also a HUGE fan of Maybelline mascara! No other brand seems to work as well! I have tried everything from expensive lines like Two-faced and Cargo, all the major department store brands, and of coarse all the drugstore brands... BUT no one does the trick quite like Maybelline!

Yet, for some reason I still have not tried the falsies lash mascara! SO, I can't wait to try it!Even my mom bought some! She and i have tried everything together and we always go back to our beloved Maybelline mascara! <3
